Mattress Chain or Local store?

Any advice as to where to buy a new mattress?  I've got a choice of two major national mattress "chains" in my shopping area and a local mattress store and local furniture store that carries mattresses.

In general, where is it better to buy?  Would welcome any advice from readers.

My suggestion would be to go to the local store. The smaller specialized local store will have a sales professional that has the best training on how to help you find the mattress that fits you. They will take the time to go through the benefits and features of each mattress to help you not only pick the perfect mattress but understand why it works best for you.

The salespeople in a large chain are more focused on earning a higher commission than helping you find the best mattress for you. So they will push products that will help their pocketbook rather than give you the best support.
