Mrs. I,

"Decent" is a tough word to figure out.

No Queen pillowtop set that is from a reputable manufacturer, provides proper support and enough padding to make it a comortable pillowtop should cost below $599.

However, when you get into better qualities of foam padding and even into memory foam and/or latex, you are talking just under a $1000 investment.

It all comes down to the level of comfort that you want, along with your budget.

Happy Sleeping!

Mrs. I,

While you want to look at both the quality and cost of the mattress you are considering buying, you should also look at the longevity. There are almost as many manufacturing types of bedding as there are warranties and styles. Decide if you want a traditional innerspring or a foam mattress. A decent traditional innerspring meant to last at least 8-10 years could run you anywhere from $699 to $999. A luxury or premium set meant to last the same amount of time but provide a better quality night sleep due to advances in the production and quality of product could run you anywhere between $999 and $2099. Foam mattresses while not really new to the market have made a surge in the marketplace because of the Tempurpedic company, will run at least double the cost of any of the above sets but most of them will also last twice as long. They also carry longer warranties.
The best thing for you to do is to try out each style in whichever retail location you have chosen to shop. Rest on the mattresses for a minumum of 10-20 minutes and compare overall comfort for you on each one. Then after comparing you can make your decision.
Please feel free to contact with any further questions. I also hope that this may help.
